Harvest Share

Want an alternative to the high cost of vegetables and other garden produce? Do you garden and have extra garden produce that you can no longer foist on to your neighbors or are you tired of throwing good food on the compost pile?

The Newcomers’ Harvest Share event might just be the answer! The Harvest Share event meets once every month from June through September, 2-3 pm, at the Picnic Pavilion in Carrie Blake Park, 202 N Blake Av, Sequim, WA 98382. The picnic pavilion in Carrie Blake Park is a covered pavilion with long picnic tables. It is on the grass between the north side of the Guy Cole Events Center and the main duck pond. Gardeners from the Newcomers’ Club set up their extra produce and other garden items on the picnic tables. There is ample parking directly in front of the pavilion. Use of this venue is first-come-first-served, but we have never found it unusable at our scheduled time.

“This summer, Harvest Share events will be held on the following dates:

  • Friday, June 21, 2024
  • Friday, July 26, 2024 This date is the 4th Friday to avoid the Lavender Festival
  • Friday, August 16, 2024
  • Friday, September 20, 2024

The Newcomers’ Harvest Share event is a free farmer’s market for Newcomers’ Members. Members can socialize while getting garden produce, plant starts, seeds, flowers, and other items, for free, from members who garden.

This event is for all members whether you garden or not. If you do garden and want to participate as a gardener, simply fill out the survey form at the link shown below, then bring your extra garden produce, extra plant starts, seeds, and other items for giving away to other club members. This is not an exchange.

Non-gardening members don’t need to bring anything except your desire for free garden items. We will be happy to (try and) answer any garden or produce questions that you have. If you’ve always wanted to garden, this is a great place to get help in getting started.

A few simple rules:

  1. All items are to be free of charge.
  2. All items are to be plants, produce, or other garden items, including flowers.
  3. All participants must be paid up members of the Olympic Newcomers’ Club.
Club members, please answer a few quick questions on our survey form. This will help us plan future events:
