DECEMBER 2024
Only eleven of us braved the chilly temperatures and howling winds of Friday the thirteenth (What were we thinking?) for our annual walk along the Dungeness Railroad Bridge in the Christmas lights, but it was beautiful, and we warmed up beautifully with mulled cider around the fireplace at our place afterward. What could be better than Christmas lights and the warmth of the company of good friends?
We’ll be trying some new things in 2025. There will be the Tables for Six, more tours to interesting places for President’s Pick, and, because the Appetizers fill up so rapidly, Heidi Hansen and Allan Halfhill are hosting a double Appetizer on the 23rd of January. The first will feature desserts from 2 – 3:30 pm, and the second will feature savories from 3:30 – 5 pm. No one can attend both. Having two events back to back offers a chance for more of our members to enjoy a get together. We are also looking for ways to open up our monthly luncheons. If you have ideas, the Board would love to hear from you. If you want to start a group within Newcomers and can put it together, let us know. Coming to a new place can be daunting. We are here to help in making connections, finding the niche that makes you know you’ve found a home. Speaking from personal experience, the more you get involved, the richer the experience and the deeper the friendships.
Wishing you a wonderful 2025,
Judy
