October 2025
Fall is here, and a Spooktacular season is at hand. Georgia and I used to have an outstanding haunted garage and awesome graveyard at our house in Ohio. Our home was legendary in the neighborhood.

I am writing this the day after a most successful October Luncheon held at the Big Elk Restaurant in Sequim. We had an even better turnout than last month, wonderful socializing, great food, super service, and a truly inspiring speaker who taught us about the sharks of Puget Sound.
We have many good Newcomer events scheduled for October. We also have the annual Dungeness Crab Festival in Port Angeles Friday, October 10 through Sunday, October 12. Attending the festival is free so don’t be afraid to check it out if the weather is good.
Bowling is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14 at noon, Dining Around is at the Double Eagle Restaurant at Cedars Dungeness on Tuesday, October 21 from 4-6 PM, Pinochle will take place at Pearl Bare’s home on Friday, October 24 from 1-4 PM, and our Appetizer/Halloween Party is at Warren Pierce and Nancy Elwert’s home from 5-7 PM on October 30. To reserve your space or for more information about an event, visit the Newcomers’ Club Website at olympicnewcomers.org. The Events Calendar lists all of the events for the current month. Each event has its own webpage that directs you to a reservation form for that event.
Remember, getting the word out about our wonderful friendship organization is this year’s challenge to our members. Let’s share our wealth!
Tom
