Dishes include fresh seafood, steaks, burgers, salads, and homemade desserts. The restaurant\u2019s decor reflects the local history. Next door is the historic Carlsborg Store which now hosts artisan and vintage shops. Carlsborg was founded in 1915 by C. J. Erickson, and named after his hometown in Sweden. Its sawmill discontinued operations in 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The following text is from Company Towns in the Pacific Northwest by Linda Carlson<\/p>\n\n\n\n “When the Boss Built the Town \u2014 Carlsborg, Clallam County, Washington<\/p>\n\n\n\n Established in 1915, this community east of Port Angeles had a post office, butcher shop, general store, cookhouse, bunkhouses, and about a dozen homes for married workers. By 1919, it had 300 residents. There were several privately owned businesses and structures, including a grange hall, school, and homes. After several ownership changes, the sawmill was closed in the late 1960s. A two-room elementary and high school operated as late as the early 1950s. One form owner\u2019s son said mill management maintained a charge account with the local sheriff for bailing out workers after weekend binges.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Dining Around Host makes a reservation at a local restaurant where the members meet for a casual meal and socializing. Everyone orders off the menu and pays their share.
