She loved to have fun. Let’s make this an event that she would enjoy!

Area Food Banks

Late last year your Newcomers’ Board decided to help both the Sequim and Port Angeles Food Banks. There will be a box for both Food Banks at our monthly Luncheons, and Newcomers will transport your contributions to both food banks. The most important food items needed throughout the year are canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans, stews), fruits (canned, dried, applesauce), canned veggies, peanut butter, pasta, cereal, hygiene items (diapers, wipes, soap), and pet food. We have contributed $232 plus 275 pounds of food thus far. Let’s keep it going, and thanks to everyone who has helped!

Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra

Our April Luncheon was one to remember! Conductor Jonathan Pasternack and Operations Manager Morgan Bartholick of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra (PASO) gave us an inspiring presentation. As if that wasn’t enough, they emailed free tickets to those who signed up for their April 11 concert at the Field Arts and Events Hall. The concert was so magnificent that Georgia and I got tickets for PASO’s May 2 presentation “Tosca in Concert,” and we’re really looking forward to it.

2026 Newcomers’ Election Results

We completed our annual elections at the April Luncheon, and I’d like to thank Dale Jackson for conducting the final paper balloting. Bob Brown was elected Vice President, Denise Thomson Secretary, and Pat Nachreiner and Lani Smith were elected Board Members. As if this wasn’t enough good news, I am thankful that Joan Wildman stepped up to become our new Membership Chair. Newcomers has a great new team that is going to serve us well!

For other events in April, please check the Events Calendar.

Finally, getting the word out about our wonderful friendship organization is our continuing challenge to our members. Spread the good news!

Tom

April 2026 Spring Is Here!
